Justin Timberlake's New Album Looking at a Half-Million Sales First Week
7:37AM Friday
March 15, 2013

Justin Timberlake's new album The 20/20 Experience is one of the year's most anticipated, and experts predict that fans will be rushing to download and purchase the disc in droves, to the tune of half a million copies in one week.

Sources tell Billboard that once the album goes on sale March 19, it could shift at least 500,000 units during its first week -- perhaps even more, now that it's streaming on iTunes and people will be able to listen to it.

Since the beginning of 2012, only four albums have sold more than a half million units in one week: Mumford & Sons' Babel, Adele's 21, One Direction's Take Me Home and Taylor Swift's Red.

However, if The 20/20 Experience racks up those numbers, JT will be the first solo male artist to do so since 2011, when Drake did it with his album Take Care.  Either way, the album is a shoo-in for the #1 spot on the chart.

Justin's last album, 2006's FutureSex/LoveSounds, debuted at #1 with sales of 684,000 copies in its first week.  His first solo album, 2002's Justified, reached #2.

In other JT news, he and Jay-Z have just added a second show at Yankee Stadium this summer, due to high ticket demand.  The new show will take place on July 20, and tickets go on sale March 18 at 10 a.m. local time via LiveNation.com.
